The first skill I chose from the list is the ability to speak and write well. I love writing. I have a passion for writing. When I am in a bad mood, I just sit down and write about anything that is in my head. I feel that my strongest thing in school is writing. I really don’t understand what it means by speaking well. Everyone can speak well if they try.

The second skill I chose off the list is the ability to analyze a problem and to develop workable solutions. I think I am strong and this suits my personality because if anyone needs me I help them and I never ask for nothing in return. I will always work my best to help people. If they are troubled they know they can come to me because I will try to help then solve their problems the best way I can.

The third skill I chose from the list is the ability to work well in teams especially with people that are different from me. I feel as though I am a very friendly person. I try to be as nice as possible to you, especially if we just met. This obviously gives me the ability to work in groups because you have to be friendly
to work with people. I feel as though I am strong in this skill and I get stronger in this skill every day.

The skill I would like to gain is an understanding of science and technology and how these are used in real world subjects. I know alot about computers, but everybody needs to improve in everything. You never stop improving in what you do. I would like a career in technology in the future. In science I really want to improe my knowledge in science, especially since it is not
my strongest subject. I would really like to gain this skill for my future careers.

Part Time Indian

Sherman Alexie

I think the author purpose in writing this book is that he wanted young adults to try to relate to something similar that happen in his life.

I think the intended audience is young adults that struggle in life.

This book is an 8.

I choose the question why I rated the book an 8. I rated this book an 8 because it has some really funny parts in the book. It also can be funny and be really serious. I also like the way that he connected himself to the main character in the book. I also liked his bravery in the book. He was really brave to stand up in front of his old rez and played basketball. That was a brave thing that he did. I don’t think I could have did that. I also liked the way he over came himself and his family struggles. This was a really good book, and I had a great time reading it. I also think it was a great experience to go and meet the author of this good book.

LAP # 7 Major Project – Romeo’s Blog :D

Act 1 Scene 1

I’m so sad today. My Rosaline has broken my heart. Oh, my life will never be the same without her. She completed me. She made me whole. I didn’t know who I was until I met her. I know it was true love as soon as soon as I looked into her beautiful eyes. She was the one! I thought we were going to be together, forever. She broke my heart though. Cupid struck her and me with arrows, and I wish hers had stayed in her. I don’t feel like Romeo anymore. I don’t feel like doing anything. I need her she made me feel special. I’m going to find a way to bring her back. I wish I knew why she broke my heart. We were so good together. Her beauty, her love, I would trade anything to get it back. If I could just kiss her, love her, or tell her how special she was to me, I would be the happiest man on earth. Without her, I am nothing.

Act 1 Scenes 2 & 5

Well today I met this servant. He wasn’t as bright as you thought he would have been. HE COULDN’T READ! He then gave me this list, and asked me if I would read it to him. It was a guest list to his master’s party. I’m reading it, and I see Rosaline’s name. Her name sparkled off the page. This is my chance, a chance for me to have my Rosaline back. I wish to win her back at this lovely party. It will make me Romeo again. I can have my confidence back. I could have my Princess back. We had so much fun together. I love her, hopefully this works. I’m so excited.

I go to the servant’s master’s party that night. It’s a Capulet’s party, my family’s biggest rivals’. Going to this party is a big risk. It was actually going pretty good. Tybalt, a horrible Capulet, had to open his mouth and say that I was a Montague. He called me a villain. Thankfully, another Montague said I was a well-mannered gentleman and that I could stay, after I heard that I was so happy. He also told Tybalt to leave to leave me alone. Dumb princox. Ok, after this, I met a beautiful, young Capulet by the name of Juliet. She is so beautiful it blows my mind. I also got a kiss. Forget about Rosaline, Juliet Capulet is my life now. I really hope I could go further into a relationship with Juliet because I truly love her. I finally believe in love a first sight.

Act 2 Scenes 1 & 2

My good friends Mercutio and Benvolio went with me to the Capulet’s orchard. They are the best friends a man could ever have, even though they think it is funny to be in love. They are giving me advice. I really appreciate when people give me advice. I really feel cared for. I don’t know what I would do without my friends here to help me. Now I shall go and see my love Juliet. Oh her beautiful features could make a man go nuts! She has beautiful hair, beautiful eyes, BEAUTIFUL EVERYTHING! I can’t wait to see her.

I know she’s there on her balcony. Oh, I want to be the glove that touches upon thy cheek. She is so beautiful. I would talk to her all night if I could. Oh, if are families were not in a feud. She cares for me. She wants me to leave, so I don’t get in trouble. Awl, how sweet of her! I want to marry her. I will wed her tomorrow at Friar Lawrence’s cell at 9 o’clock. Oh I am so happy! I hope everything goes right, as I planned. She is my every thing, and without her I am nothing. If I can’t have her, I really must die.

Act 2 Scene 4

Well, I came home late last night because I decided to seek advice from Friar Lawrence. Ah, he is a wonderful man and knows a lot about life, that is why I love my dear friend so much. So I am with Mercutio and Benvolio. They are making fun of me. Luckily, they are my good friends. So, we see Nurse, Juliet friend. They are making fun of them. Oh, no! It is ok. I hope the nurse understands. They are mocking nurse, I want to say Mercutio stop. But, I am glad I saw Nurse. She makes me feel better about my Juliet.

Oh, Juliet! How she makes me feel like the best guy on earth. Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears. As I tell you about my dear Juliet. Well, Love goes by haps; Some Cupid kills with arrows, some with traps. Love is a smoke and is made with the fume of sighs. Trust me, I like those fumes as if though they were Juliet’s. Come what sorrow can, It cannot countervail the exchange of joy. That one short minute gives me in her sight, and I want her to stay there.

Act 3 Scene 1

Well, today has have to been the worst day ever! Well I come in the middle of an argument, in a public place. Mercutio and Tybalt are arguing. I tried to get them to stop, as I don’t want them to argue, or even fight. Tybalt is like family to me now, but he just doesn’t get it. He constantly calls me a villain. I try, and I try, it doesn’t work. I told Mercutio not to fight, not to argue. He didn’t listen! He didn’t listen! Well, Tybalt killed him! Oh, Mercutio, good friend, why must you fight? May you rest in peace now. Now Tybalt wants to fight me! Oh, I killed him as I didn’t mean it. Oh, dear cousin, please forgive me as I love your cousin Juliet. I must get away as quickly as possible so I don’t get killed.

Act 3 Scene 3

Now that I got away from the scene of the crime, I am with Friar Lawrence. He tells me he has brought me new, news that I am banished from Verona. I tell him how I can’t lie in a world without the walls of Verona. If this is true, they can cut my head off with a golden axe. He says sin. It is not sin when you can’t live without the one you love so truly. I order him not to speak of this banished again. Nurse then shows up at Friar Lawrence’s Cell. She tells me how Juliet misses me, and how she can’t stop crying over me. Oh, and she gave me the ring I gave my dear Juliet. This is a sign that we should be together always and forever,

My heart is broken. I love her dearly. I can’t be without her much longer. I have really bad luck because first it was Rosaline that did this to me, now this is not Juliet’s fault but I can’t be with her now! My love life is so messed up. Oh if god wanted me to be happy I would be a better man in life.

Act 3 Scene 5

I go to meet Juliet, for one last time, hopefully not though. I am explaining to her how much I love her and how dearly I will miss her. She tries to start an argument with me, but I know it is because she does not want me to leave. I don’t want to leave neither, but I must, as I don’t want to face the law, that is, death! She is crying to her mother about me, although her mother thinks she is talking about her late cousin. I wish our love could just be allowed without our families being in feuds. I love her. I can’t be without her. Her, Rosaline, how much I loved them both, but how quickly I lost them.

Act 5 Scene 1

I am with my servant and good friend Balthsar. He is my friend but he has brought me unwanted news. I ask him how is Juliet; please don’t tell me it is my father. He tells me that Juliet has died and that she rests in Capulet’s monument. I order him to give me ink and paper and to hire me post horses. I ask Apothecary to give me poison. I tell him I want it, but he doesn’t want to give it to me. He gives me a poisonous liquid to drink though.

Oh dear Juliet. I miss you dearly. Words can’t express what you mean to me. It is kind of hard when you are not around, but I know you’re in heaven, smiling down. Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies. Each moment of a happy lover’s hour is worth an age of dull and common life. I love you baby. May you rest in peace, as a beautiful woman like you should.

Act 5 Scene 3

I’m going to my sweet Juliet’s resting place. I am going to drink the poison at the Capulet’s monument, Juliet’s resting place. I tell Balthsar not to come back and to leave so he doesn’t see or hear anything that goes on. Hopefully he is a good friend and obeys my last wishes.

I see Paris at Juliet’s resting place. He constantly calls me a villain. I did nothing wrong to him. He thinks I am messing with the bodies. I would never do that to my sweet Juliet’s body. I loved her. I still love her. We were fighting. I stabbed him. He last wishes were to be with Juliet and I granted his last wish. Then I drunk the poison.

To Kill a Mocking Bird

Harper Lee

I think the author’s purpose on writing this book was to entertain us with a story that was greatly written, carefully thought, and took alot of hard work.

I think the intended audience is for young adults because of the time period and the events that happen in the story and why kids wouldn’t be able to understand what’s going on.

I rate this book a 9!

I rated this book a 9 because first of all it is very detailed. It tells you about their early childhood in Alabama when times were in the Great Depression. It also shows you alot of examples of racial stuff, and I felt like it was me back in the 20′s like actually living their lives. The book is also sad at one point, but another great addition to the book. I really really reccommend this book to people to read, I saw this book, I said ” this will be boring’ I feel instantly in love with this book and I was reading alot of it each day.

Have A Nice Night :D

The boy in the Striped Pajamas

John Boyne

I think the author’s purpose in writing this book is to inform the readers about a boy that was growing up in WW1 in Berlin. I think this is good so you can see what the boy went through when the hard times was going on during the war.

I think the intended audience for this book is teenagers to adults because I don’t think a middle school student would understand the book, and his way of writing.

I think this book is an eight.

I gave this book an eight because I enjoyed the way the author was telling the story of the main character Bruno. He explained in detail that the boy did not know was going on, especially when he was told he was moving. I enjoyed that part because it let up to believing that something was going to happen with the main character. I also liked how he explained that his father was trying to keep a secret when he was promoted and kept his stuff private, because he knew he son was young, and as he got older, I know that he would eventually tell him. All and all, this was a pretty good book.

The Letter O

The letter O,

Looks like a hole,

Looks like the off switch on my laptop,

Looks like a donut from Dunkin Donuts,

It also looks like the cap on my water bottle.

The letter O,

Looks like buttons on my T.V remote,

Looks like the clock on my wall when it strikes midnight,

Looks like the doorknob as I leave my home.

It also looks like the bus driver’s stiring wheel.

I know you may think,

The letter O looks like nothing,

Well as I look at it,

It looks like alot of things

That I use or see in my daily life.

:D

Poem

In my daily life

I need to do somethings.

These things that I do

make my life true.

When I get up in the morning,

I do the basics.

Shower, brush my teeth

And say goodbye to my parents.

Going to school at 6 AM. isn’t fun,

I get up in the morning

And I get a bus,

Take the train and the sub.

I go to school, get all my credits,

And learn new things.

This isn’t all that fun.

When I get home

Is when my days begins.

I walk my pug,

clean my room and take out the trash.

When I am done this, it is my time now,

Eat, Facebook, Xbox and my friends,

All right in a row.

This is my daily life.

The Lady or the Tiger?- LAP #5

1. emanted- to come from

2. retribution- punishment

3. impartial- fair

4. aesthetic- relating to an appreciation for beauty.

5. moiety- half part

Questions~

The king is surrounded by his court, sat high in his throne on one side of the arena.

No you never know which door the tiger came out, it was always different.

The princess didn’t like the lady because she is going to be the wife of his lover.

The princess got to pick which door to open.

She seen the lady marrying her lover.

She didn’t expect her lover to ask her to indicate which he choose.

Only they were suppose to know they were communicating.

My Own Words~

The king’s arena was a kingdom that could seat alot of people.

The king’s method was if you pick the tiger, your guilty.

Yes she had difficulty because she didn’t know if she wanted him to die or get a new lover.

No she didn’t commit a sin, she did what she thought was right.

I think if I was her, I would want to choose a new lover because it would kill him for no reason if she didn’t.

If I was the lover, I would choose the one with the tiger, because he would be hurt.

The ending I would put is: They fall in love and the guy turns out not be guilty.

No I DO NOT agree with the author.

Article of the Week – 1.31

This article can be found @ http://abcnews.go.com/US/man-wrongly-accused-kensington-strangler-photo-address-facebook/story?id=12449507

This article is about a man who was recently accused of being included in the crimes connected to the Kensington strangler. The Kensington strangler was a man who was recently connected with 3 murders and possibly sexual assaults.  The man who was accused of being the Kensington strangler was a man in a Facebook picture with a label of the Kensington strangler. He was chased from his Philadelphia home and police were notified with this misinformation. I feel this is to show that Facebook is nothing but trouble and people should not get worried and hurt someone who is really not who they think they are. I hope they catch the actual Kensington strangler and this time, the real one.
